Life as we understand it is predominantly based on energy. Unknowingly and unthinkingly, we consume energy at every step of our lives. Renewable energy is generated from natural sources such as sunlight, wind, rain, and geothermal which is naturally replenished. This is also referred to as green energy, since no fossil fuels are burned while generating electricity through these processes.

While the best reason to switch to renewable or green energy could be an environmental conscience, it also satisfies the need for an uninterrupted power supply. And well configured systems make long term economic sense. Energy saving reduces costs to households and to businesses, increasing sustainability of the local economy and community.

Energy efficiency, simply means using less energy to provide the same level of energy service.
